BECOME A HERO IN VALORANT 1v5’s

we’re going to go over how to peek like a pro and guarantee that you get the first shot in every fight. knowing how to peek properly is extremely important in valorant, as it can make the difference between being prepared to hit your shots or being surprised an easily one tapped by the enemy.

We’re going to be reviewing concepts such as angle advantage, how to swing at enemies, and how to have amazing crosshair placement. By putting these pieces together, you’ll be well on your way to hitting insane peeks and instantly destroying your enemies. We’re going to start things off with our question of the day!

What is your favorite weapon to use in valorant?

The weapon you tend to use can drastically change the way you want to play valorant. You may position different, you may play more aggressive or passive, and these factors and more will also change how you’re going to peek enemies and get into duels.

Jumping right into things, the biggest concept to understand in order to hit the first shot and outpeek your enemies is angle advantage. to put this in simple terms, essentially the further you are from a wall or corner, the earlier you’re going to be able to see an enemy. if you’re too close to a wall or corner, you’re going to see them later and have less time to react and fire at the enemy to give you an idea of what this looks like, we’re going to head over to A cubby.

if i am tucked into the very corner of A cubby, there are two scenarios that could happen. one is that the player hugs the wall closest to me and peeks. if the player does, this, we’ll see each other at fairly the same time and have an equal chance of reacting and shooting a shot.however, if the player decides to back up and hug the wall furthest away from me, they’re actually be able to see me before I can see them. And this is what angle advantage is about.

If a player is tucked in close to a wall and you’re able to get far away from that wall and then go for the peek, you’ll be able to see them before they see you, and therefore you’ll be able to shoot them without them knowing what hit them.this is the essence of angle advantage when you’re the one that has to peek an enemy.

Now what about the player who’s holding?

How can we mitigate this angle advantage and even the playing field.lets go back into my perspective and the position that I’m playing. One way i can mitigate the angle advantage that enemies would have on me is by backing up as far as I can and then moving slightly to the side of the wall to the right.

By doing this small adjustment, it opens up my field of view and now if a player tries to peek me, we’ll see each other at relatively the same time. However, a way that this is an advantage for you though, is that not only does this decrease the enemy’s angle advantage, but it also puts you at an off angle.
An off angle is a position that tends to be unorthodox and unusual for a player to be in. For example, most people will try to check the cubby and we’ll go over a common peek players will do for positions like these. but because players tend to expect you to be in the very corner of cubby, they’re try to put their crosshairs there and they won’t be ready for you to be slightly off that position.

This off angle allows you to be prepared for an enemy to pop out at you while also forcing enemies to have to flick their aim as you were in a position they weren’t expecting. Getting back into our own peeks though, a big part of getting the first shot over the enemy is phenomenal crosshair placement and preparation.

Getting back into our own peeks though, a big part of getting the first shot over the enemy is phenomenal crosshair placement and preparation.

now everyone knows that you want to place the crosshair at head level, but there’s more to that and for this maneuver in particular, you need to know the common positions that players like to play. specifically when you’re going for peeks, you want to place your crosshair in a manner where if you were to swing out at at a position that you anticipate someone because in, your crosshair will be perfectly placed at that player’s location.

to give a few examples, a common position someone will be is in U-hall. If you want to peek this position as an attacker, you want to actually place your crosshair at the wall such that once you swing to the left and peek, your crosshair is going to be right on the enemy’s head. With this preparation, all you have to do is react and shoot and the enemy is going to be dead. if you know an enemy is there, you can also pre-fire it using the same technique.
